  • Assigned user permission set [POWERBI REPORT BASIC] and [POWERBI REPORT ADMIN]
  • Assigned user permission for Page 6327
  • Recorded the permissions from my side as below and assign them to the user
  • Assigned some accesses which I think are related to PBI as below

User still get the same error after ALL above assess have been assigned to the user at the same time. Did I miss anything else? Thanks.

Hi there! Good morning, evening, or afternoon - depending on where you are :) Hope you are well today! I see you posted this a while ago - hoping you have resolved by now but incase not, here are a few thoughts:

The error message indicates that the user lacks the necessary permissions to access Power BI reports embedded in Business Central. Based on the steps you've already taken, here are some additional recommendations to resolve the issue:

    1. Verify Power BI Licensing
    • Ensure that the affected users have a valid Power BI Pro license or access to Power BI Premium Capacity.
    • Without the appropriate license, users may encounter access issues when trying to view embedded reports.
    2. Assign Table Permissions
    • The error suggests that the user may not have sufficient permissions for the underlying tables used in the Power BI report.
    • Assign the D365 REPORT VIEWER permission set to the user, which provides access to the necessary tables for embedded reports.
    3. Check Power BI Service Connection
    • Verify that the Power BI service is correctly connected to Business Central:
      • Navigate to Business Central > Assisted Setup > Set up Power BI Reporting.
      • Ensure the connection is active and configured for the correct environment.
    4. Validate Page Permissions
    • Confirm that the user has access to Page 6327 (Power BI Embed Setup Wizard) and any other pages related to Power BI embedding.
    • If necessary, create a custom permission set that includes access to these pages.
    5. Clear Cache and Refresh Data
    • Ask the user to clear their browser cache and refresh the Power BI report data.
    • Sometimes, cached data can cause permission errors.
    6. Test with a Different User
    • Test the report with another user who has similar permissions to identify whether the issue is user-specific or system-wide.
    7. Review Application Insights Logs
    • Use the Application Insights session ID and Client activity ID from the error message to investigate further in the Azure portal.
    • This can help identify any underlying issues with the Power BI integration.

    Hope this helps some!

Hello, The issue likely stems from missing permissions in Business Central. Ensure users have D365 POWER BI USER along with POWERBI REPORT BASIC/ADMIN roles. Also, grant access to Table 2000000193 (Power BI Report Configuration) and Page 6327 (Power BI Embed Setup Wizard). If using Dataverse, verify security roles in the Power Platform Admin Center. If the problem persists, check telemetry logs for more insights.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni

Hello, please try applying the permissions below. These are the PBI permissions added by the OOTB Business Full Access permission set. It seems Read, Insert, Modify, and Delete are required.
