Best way to send notification to specific user when a contact is added to marketing list

Hello all,

I'm wondering what the best method is to accomplish the following:

I'd like to have an email notification sent to a specific user or nonuser (if possible) whenever a contact is added to the dynamic marketing list I've created. My end goal is to notify the person in charge of mailing out marketing materials that a new contact requires a marketing packet. Would this be done using a workflow of some kind? If anyone could provide step-by-step instructions on accomplishing this, I'd be extremely grateful.

    Your requirement is pretty tricky. Firstly, contacts are not added to dynamic marketing lists. Contacts *are added* to static marketing lists, but a dynamic marketing list only contains a query. That query is run when the dynamic market list is used in a campaign or when you visit the members grid. There is no relationship in the database between the contact and the list, like there is when you use a static list.

    So you might just have to use a workflow rule with a condition built in. When the condition is met then send an email.
