Dimension Detail Report including budget option: budgets not showing

Hello BC Forum,

I configured budgets, see my print screens and after that I created a dimension detail report with the option "include budgets". Unfortunately the budgets are not showing in my report. What am I forgetting?

Thanks for the reply.

Greetings,

John

Did you use the "Update" after you set to include budgets? The "Last Budget Entry No." is 0. The analysis view does not currently contain budget entries.

Default report isn't the greatest. For enhanced design users often look to other report tools. Jet Reports is very popular for instance. You can alter the built in reports with the custom report layout feature. Can be a long winded exercise for a report like this one.

Thanks Josh for your answer. For a moment I thought this could be it! I updated the analysis View Card and.... no luck. See my print screens. But I think you are right I am forgetting something. But what?
Thanks also for the Jet Reports suggestion. I gladly like to try that.

    Greetings,

    John

The report itself isn't designed to show budget entry data - just checked the source code of report ID 28. If you include budget entries on an analysis view then you can access them with account schedules: docs.microsoft.com/.../bi-how-work-account-schedule

That is strange because the option "include budgets" exists in Analysis View Card. Therefore it should work, right? Does this mean this option is obsolete? Or should it be removed? Very confusing. I will take a look at the account schedules. To my humble opinion: a relatively simple report should be easily available, not with a huge configuration.

That specific report just doesn't include budgets. Guide on a worthwhile account schedule setup: dynamicsnavfinancials.com/.../
