Item Cross Reference is removed with data and not been transferred to Item Reference

Hi experts,

We are just updated to BC 22 this week.

Due to Cross-Reference replaced by Item Reference feature in this new version, we faced some problem when checked the posted purchase invoice, Item reference field is empty. Is there anything I can do now to fix the code or any solution to get my data back?

I have the same question (0)

You can try to restore the backup on Cloudversion with below link,

I think this was transformed since ~2017 and Microsoft suggested not to use Cross-references anymore as they will not be used in later versions, but use the item references instead.

There have been many complaints regarding this from customers that just upgraded, but only way is to manually transfer them from the old system.

This is a bad job from Your partner, not to warn regarding this, but of course we all are humans and it can be hard to keep track of all the risks and what is used in system. Also depends on how good the analysis before upgrade was (hopefully there was one). Also there should have been a Test upgrade and user testing phase before You upgrade the production system.

Hi, I agree with Kaspars, this data could have been transferred automatically in the last version and your partners never handled it.

And this warning has been there since a long time ago when it was customized.

The only way now is to restore to the version before the upgrade and manually transfer the data as suggested by Nitin. If you still have an old version of Sandbox, you can also export from this environment.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

I totally agree with you Kaspars, and I think that it is really bad when we aren't aware of this and MS doesn't have a solution to transfer data automatically.
