I have seen both ways:  Budget - Actual and Actual - Budget.
 
Which is it?

    I don't understand your question.. but looking at the phrase "Budget - Actual" implies you're subtracting the actual from the budgeted. And, "Actual - Budget" suggests you're subtracting the budgeted from the actual..

    Hi All:
     
    I have seen some financial statements and other reports present a Variance column as Budget minus Actual.
     
    I have seen others present such columns, as Actual minus Budget.
     
    I simply want to know which is it.
     
    To quote a line from My Cousin Vinnie, "I hope I have been clear."  :)
