How to bulk update Contact records without any changes in production environment?

Posted on by

Hello,

How can I bulk update Contact records, e.g. 2000 records, but do not change any thing? The purpose of this process is to trigger flow and take "disable Contact fields sync to Outlook" effect.

Any suggestions and approaches are welcome and appreciate.

Locked fields refers to read only. correct? If yes then power automate will trigger and Bulk Updater will work for the read only field.

Also, I tried on one of the null field of my account entity with bulk data update. As a result my power automate trigger.

You can try Because in the end nothing is going to update. Bulk Updater Just make the record dirty which will help us to trigger our custom logic like power automate.

    Thank you Pradeep.

That's a great tool. As your experience, when I use Bulk Data Updater, can I select a LOCKED field in the Form to update? Or select a field value always is NULL to update?

    Thanks again.

    Hi partner,

I agree with Pradeep Rai, you can use Bulk Data Updater in XRMToolBox to achieve your goal.

    Hi,

Please Bulk Data Updater in XRMToolBox as shown below:

In this plugin we have action named as Touch as shown below:

    pastedimage1673887950180v2.png

This action does not update anything. This will help you to trigger the Power Automate.

I tried for account entity and it triggered the power automate.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank You,
    Pradeep Rai.

Please mark this as VERIFIED. If it helps
