Workflow instruction to find the latest occurrence

Hello:

I need to write a workflow that looks at Contracts; when we renew a contract, the status changes but the contract number remains. I need to write a workflow that only sends the status of the latest contract to the related account.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Try to register your workflow in entity Contract with trigger: on change status then update the field in entity account based on the contract. I am not sure, but I assume you have firld in Account to store the latest contract, isnt it?

It depends on how many contracts you have under the same account . If you have mulitple contracts related to an account then you need to decide which contract info you want to push it to account. As AILEEN GUSNI said write workflow on the status change of the contract and based on requirement you should be able to update parent account with latest information

Actually you can write workflow on create and look for the field value OriginatingContract if this field is not null that means its a renewal contract and you can push detaisl from this contract to account
