Importing Data from One Company or Environment to Another

Hi:

I'm no longer able to find "rapid start" in Business Central.

So, how do you migrate data from one Business Central company to another -- whether in the same environment or a different one?

What are the Configuration Worksheet and Configuration Templates used for?

    Hi,

Search for "Configuration Packages" and "Configuration Worksheet"

They stopped calling it "rapid start" some time ago but this will get you to the same pages. Otherwise it'll be as you remembered it.

    Hi,
RapidStart is no longer visible as a separate feature, but its functionality is still available through Configuration Packages in Business Central.
Use the Configuration Package page to export data from one company and import it into another.

    Hi,

“RapidStart” is now called Configuration Packages in Business Central.
To migrate data between companies or environments:
    > Use Configuration Packages (search for “Configuration Packages”).
    > Export data from the source company as an Excel file.
    > Import the file into the target company and apply it.

Configuration Worksheet: Helps plan which tables and fields to include in the migration.
Configuration Templates: Define default values for records during setup (e.g., for vendors, customers).
This is the standard method for data migration in current versions.

    Thanks
