TableRelation Use

Hi all,

I am wondering if I am using the table relation property correctly in a tableextension. Screenshot below:

I am trying to get these fields to display exactly the same information as the field the table relation is pulling in for each one. For example, I want "RunTimeHTC2" to pull in the same data as "Prod. Order Routing Line"."Run Time".

Please let me know if I need to include any 'where' clause or 'if' statement to make a table relation work.

Thanks,

Chris

    Hi Chris,

Please do use a FlowField type field to fulfill your requirement. I have attached a Snap of Debit Amount in Customer Ledger Entry Table

As Brad says. Flowfield is the way to go in your case.

Table relations are used to control  that the values in the field only will be valid if they meet the table relation definition.

You might be well served to become familiar with MS Learn - learn.microsoft.com/.../devenv-flowfields

Brad, could you show me how to put that into the table extension above?

    Thanks,

    Chris

If you're trying to display the value from a related table you would need to use a FlowField. The TableRelation will indicate the table and field value for the field (think of lookup)
