Label printing errors

I am seeing some strange errors in printing labels.  There is no problem with spacing on the labels, Avery 5167.  However in printing a sheet of labels, the print preview will be fine.  However at some point the font size information will be lost.  For instance if the item code and item name are in 8pt and the price is 12pt, the print size will revert to 10pt but with the spacing of the correct font, so the item code and item name are crunched together, and the price is spaced out.  This starts happening randomly.  Also the last label will print out with only the price and barcode.  The barcode always prints correctly.

I am currently using a Ricoh Aficio SP C431DN connected via USB (the problem is the same if using a network connection), with the latest printer drivers, but the problem also occurs with various model HP printers.

I've seen this before and never resolved it, other than moving to a dedicated label printer like a Zebra 2824+,  Labels are much cheaper too.

First I would verify that you have the last printer driver from the manufacturer's website.  Also up the memory in the printer too.

    Hi,

Try re-installing your printer as Generic/Text Only and then print using that to print.

Change to the PCL5 printer driver for your printer if one is available. I noticed this when printing with a PCL6 printer driver and after changing to a PCL5 driver, all is good. PCL6 backwards compatibility isn't quite right.
