    Hey all!

Maybe this can help and maybe someone can help me :) !
As Nav 2009 R2 is still used by numerous company even if out of date, you maybe also tried to run it on a new server OS.

I've updated our RDS farm from 2012 OS to 2022 OS. We're running Nav 2009 R2 as a published app and... it's working fine :).
The publish app can start and you're completely able to work with it.

Except one point. Indeed, time to time and randomly the app seem to glitter and if someone is filling a field at this very moment, itremoves what you were typing. I had a video of this issue. When the problem happens, it's like a refresh of the app. You could always see the file, edit, view, etc... menu but all icons below dissapear for half a second then you could retype again.

I'm searching where this issue comes from and often the issue is worst from 5PM to 7PM. I asked to the knower of NAV, but there is no routine or scheduled task in nav at this hours.
PB is happening on published app but also if you try a remote desktop connexion to the server and try to launch the app. So it's not comming from the end user laptop. On the main nav server which is a 2019, the owner will try to reproduce the issue, I'm waiting for this test on Monday.

I can't find a solution. I'm wondering if someone tries to run it on 2022 servers and faced the same issue. I'm wondering if runing the app in compatibility mode could help to solve this.

If anyone have some informations, please share.

    Regards,

As I was mentioned before it's not a default compatibility but I've seen it work.

I know this is old but incase it helps anyone in the future.. I just spun up a fresh VM running Server 2022 Standard (eval) & installed NAV2009R2. I was able to connect to my production database without a problem and everything seemed to work with the exception of opening things in outlook/excel/word since I hadn’t installed those on the vm. I will be updating my production RDS VM from 2012r2 to 2022 in the coming days/week and will update here if any problems arise. We are in the process of moving to Business Central but we will still want to access the old version for reference for a few months-year.

    Hi CGGS,

NAV 2009 is out of support life cycle since 01/13/2015 therefore no tests has been done to verify that NAV 2009 is compatible with Windows Server 2019. For all other Dynamics NAV and Business Central versions you will find the compatible products in the system requirements of the official documentation. As example here for Dynamics NAV 2018 docs.microsoft.com/.../system-requirements-for-microsoft-dynamics-nav.
