What is Invoice Line Items?

hai dudes,

may I know what is Invoice Line Items. Because many of them said once you maintain product in crm means 

a-Import products & pricelists and 

b-import invoice 

if you not maintain the products in crm means

a.Import invoices

b-Import line items (mention the invoice no. in a separate column; Invoice no. of invoices imported in CRM & also select 'product' as write-in, in your csv/xml).

Actually I didnt maintain Products in crm .

But I had imported Invoice in crm. Now I need to know what is Import line items in crm where should I get the Template file of Invoice Line items.  Then what is Invoice number? Invoice no is invoice Id? please clarify my doubts.. I am waiting for your reply..

    Invoice lines is a relationship between invoice and products. Thus if you need to add invoice lines, you need to add products using the "Product.xml" template file. But as you don't maintain Products in CRM, while importing Invoice lines, add invoice number of imported invoices in CRM in a separate column and select the Product as write-in in import file.

    For importing Invoice lines, you need to download the "Invoice Product.xml" template file.

    All the mentioned templates can be downloaded from "templates for Data Import" in Data Management section in Settings.

    That is what I said, as you don't maintain Products in CRM, while importing Invoice lines, add invoice number of imported invoices in CRM in a separate column and select the Product as write-in in the import file.

    yes That only I did Actually I first Imported Invoice file In crm . Then I tried to import Invoice Product file in crm In Invoice Product File I added Invoice Id  and Try to import Invoice product Record file in crm. but still I got failures. what shall I do?

    Here you go, below are the steps that I performed. I do have screen shots/video but i'm not sure how can i share with you. Please let me know if there is any way.

    1. Export Invoice Product.xml

    2. Add Invoice Line data in the xml with below values.

    3. Set "Select Product" column value to "Write In".

    4. Add a new column "Invoice ID" and set the value to Invoice ID field of respective Invoice.

    5. Save and import the file.

    6. During Import wizard, on Review Mapping Summary Page, click on Edit.

    7. In Map Fields, for Invoice ID row click on the look up reference and select "Invoice ID" field and click Ok.

    8. Click Next and progress with the import process.

    This works for me. Probably issue with your process that I can think of is at step 7. Invoice ID field is by default map to Invoice name and Invoice GUID field.
