Importing closed (won/lost) opportunities

Hi all,

I'd like to import a history of closed (won/lost) opportunities by using the Data Import functionality.

I've added the "Status" (Open/Won/Lost) in my import file, but the opportunities are still open.

Any ideas?

Kind Regards,

Elmar

    Elmar,

You cannot import the Won-Lost opportunities directly into CRM as the records are inactive.

    Refer the following thread:

    community.dynamics.com/.../119807

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Hello,

CRM dones not allow to import inactive records, so you need to use method to make then inactive after import. So if you don't have any other process that you want to validate then you could simply set workflow which should run on create and disable that records based on some field value (you can set some pointer to identify your record as it was inactive)

Other wise you could also write a .net console application which can run against your opportunity record and can make them inactivity if there is any business validation you want to check for making them inactive.

You can use a workflow with the following logic:

    If(Oppourtunity.Hitrate == "100% won")

    Set the status to Won

and run it on Create of Record.

It's  possible to import the records as won. I have implemented in my project MS CRM 2016 online.

Please follow the below link as it's possible to make changes in the closed won or closed lost record in MS CRM.
