    Oh gosh,

Gracious, it is a monster. My hat is off to anyone that is just starting out with this software. I've been lucky enough to literally grow up with the software. Twenty-four years ago when I got started I think we had GL. PM, RM and Multicurrency. The other modules came year-by-year. Anyway, to answer your question, there are many really good YouTube videos out there that are free. If you join GPUG, you have an incredible library of Webinars and training that is available. There is a fee to joining GPUG, but the benefits are worth it.

I think you need to start with just understanding how to navigate the User Interface and then go through the following GL, PM, RM, Bank Rec, Fixed Assets (opt), Payroll (opt), Inventory, SOP & POP. After that, you can decide if you want to go technical. If yes, then the basics for a technical consultant (not a programmer) would be Macros, Report Writer, Modifier/VBA, the GP Data Model, SmartList Builder, Extender, SmartList Export Solutions, Drill-down Builder and SmartList Designer. You also need to get a foundation in SQL queries. There are some excellent Webinars in the GPUG archives by Steve Endow and Christina Phillips.

If you want to specialize on certain areas you have Project Accounting, Manufacturing, Not-for Profit, Multi-currency, HR/Payroll. As you know, there's a lot to this software, don't try too much at once and I think it's manageable. I'm just glad I don't have to try to learn it now - it's big, so it's good to learn the basics and then specialize.

Good Luck! You have many people on this forum that are willing to help you along. Just please try and find the answer yourself before asking for a 'step-by-step' answer from the forum. You'll do well and the GP community is here to help you succeed.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
