Missing Data Encryption Key

I've just upgraded a CRM 2013 database into CRM 2015 and have realised that the data encryption key does not get moved withy the database.

when checking the CRM 2013 system, there is no data encryption key present, meaning I cannot copy this across to the 2015 system.

I have read several articles on workarounds but none seem to work. Does anyone know how I can recreate the key so that it works in 2015?

    Hi,

    You'll need to export the key from the previous environment and add it to your new server.

    If you are not accessing via HTTPS then you need to set DisableSSLCheckForEncryption

    Hi Scott, thanks for the quick response.

    The problem I have is that there isn't a data encryption key present in the source system [Data Management section]. not sure how this has happened.

    Do you happen to know if this key is stored anywhere else?

    When you say there is no key - could you elaborate more and perhaps give a screenshot?
