Picking list splits in two batches for no reason

Hi,

I see a behavior that I don´t fully understand with Production orders. It is this one:

- I have a planned production order. I "Firm" it and it goes to the list of "Production orders".

- I click start which triggers reservation of inventory. I do not post the picking list at this point.

- When I look into the unposted picking list I see some batch controlled ingredients split in two lines. One of them has a batch number, the other does not. There is enough stock on hand on the batch that I see on the list but still it's not picking it at this point.

- I reset the status of the production order.

- I start it again without posting the picking list

- Now when I go to see the lines it is taking all quantity from the batch number that I had before and quantity is on an empty-batch line.

Anyone has any ideas why may this be happening??

Thanks!

it depends on lot id and it's splitting based on supply  and demand matching

if you picked partially in the first occurence then the this could happen

But would you say that this explains different outcomes in picking list the second time the order is estimated?

when production is estimated either D365FO can reserve inventory on hand or one could do manually

when picking list is created it just follows the reservation

when production status is reverted then the picking list reversal happens and if status is estimated then reservation would still remain

if going to created state then probably the reservation could be unlink

    Hi Rahul,

No luck in LCS. Could you please take a look at this change in the on-hand stock? I think it´s interesting, maybe you can explain dynamics reasoning behind.

I have started, thus created a non-posted picking list, a production order.

I reset the status of the production order and start it again. This is how the previous table has changed:

Now I get the full quantity that I will use for the production order reserved against Batch 1. It´s as if D365 changed priorities in quantities when you start production order twice??

visual wise looks ok to me

could you check for any fix in LCS (quality update or next PU)

RE: Picking list splits in two batches for no reason

    Hi,

See the example of this ingredient:

Picking list after starting it the first time:

    pastedimage1589541472093v1.png

    pastedimage1589541518178v2.png

Without changing anything, just by resetting the status of the order and starting it again (nobody else is doing anthing in the environment I´m testing), I get different results, all stock is one line now with a batch nubmer:

So basically now everything is ok and I could go ahead with the prodution order by posting the picking list but I would like to understand the behaviour behind this.

    Thanks
