Dynamic Filter next 3 Months

Dear All,

I am trying to create a dynamic view which filters my results for the next three months.

Example:

The result I'm aiming for is

Quotes valid for the next 3 months

So today is April 11

My search should include April, May and June

2063.untitled.png

Now as seen in the Screen, this month and the next is not an issue.

But Adding the filter Option "Next X months" does not give the correct results as it filters the results for the next 3 months starting from April 11 and not April 1.

Any hints on how I could apply this filter? The idea is to create a rolling forecast.

Best regards

Philippe

    Hi Abby,

    thanks for your detailed reply!

Yes I'm trying to create a report for the next three months to the the overall volume of for example quotes or orders.

Thanks for the info I will continue to look for a workaround here

    Hi Schorb,

Read your original post a bit more. So you want always 3month time span in current, next, next+1 month, correct? I don't it can be achieved by advanced find query.

Please see here and read the last paragraph at the bottom, though the article is written in 2012 I think it's still true:

    gonzaloruizcrm.blogspot.com.au/.../date-and-time-operators-in-crm-explained.html

Next X Months: This operator does not use the calendar year. It includes all values starting now and until the same calendar day on the next month (inclusive). E.g. if it is 3:30PM on August 3rd then “Next 1 Months” includes all values between now (3:30PM) and September 3rd (until 11:59PM). When X == 1, this is NOT the same as “Next Month”. Also note that when you have DateTime fields without a time component, the time will usually be se to 12AM (hidden) so this operator would not include today in that case.

Next 3 Calendar Weeks/Months: Unfortunately you cannot build such a query from DateTime fields. You would have to either store the week/month in a separate numeric field or otherwise build a report that applies additional Datetime expressions to filter the results. CRM only supports filtering by calendar week/month for last, this and next week/month. (same applies to year).

    Regards,

    Abby

I'm not entirely sure I understand on this 'does not filter for my criteria to view the current month and the following two.'

So you want to show Quotes Valid Until (Date) in next 90 days or this month, is it correct?

Quotes Valid Until next 90 Days

    Or

    Quotes Valid Until this month?

Hey Abby thanks for your reply.

That would be a dynamic solution yes, but does not filter for my criteria to view the current month and the following two.

The commanc nextXDays would only give me the next three months starting from today

Yes you can do this by next 90 days.

How about using nextXDays(90) instead of nextXmonths(3)

    Hi Goutam,

    thanks for your reply.

The way you Display the results works fine of course. But this would have to be readjusted each time. Im looking for a dynamic way to apply the exact filters that you put.

    Regards

    Hi ,

This is by design, its checking current month and in addition number of months you put. If you need from particular date then you  can pass date  and use "on or after" and "on or before"
