Hi Friends,

I am getting below error while importing excel sheet through Data Import feature in Dynamics CRM. Any one have idea about this error. Please help me where i am doing wrong.

How to resolve this issue?

Error: Import Failed

"The selected solution import file either does not exist or is invalid. Please select a file which was Exported from this system."

Hi Vijay,

Are you sure you are importing correct format file ?

Can you try to download the template from settings --> Data Management and then fill the data and save and try to import. Make sure you do not change the file format.

Another options would be simply export data from advanced find then try to import same file see if its working then use similar file format.

Are you trying to import excel which was exported from CRM? if so, make sure you've not modified the first three columns.

Hi,

Only the execl files exported (either as template or export to excel) can be imported in CRM. Alternate option is to save it as csv/xml and then map the entity and fields (you will get these entity/field mapping options with csv/xml file type).

Hi,

By looking into error screen shot it looks like the file format you are trying to import is not the correct one. But if this is not the case please let us know if you have done any editing in the excel sheet.

Till that time we would suggest to perform the below checks on your file

1) Download the template from D365 and paste your data in that template Or Write advance find query and Export the data .In that exported excel file update the data, save and re-import the system

2) Please check the file format as suggested above may be the reason.

3) Check the size of the file.

4) Try to import the file with 3-4 record and 2-3 columns as test purpose.

5) Check your roles to do this job for this entity.

Hi Prashant,

Yes, i have removed first three columns from the file and imported, then i got this error. Now, as per your suggestion again i imported without modifying the first three columns, this time i got success without any issues and Thanks for your answer and time.
