Assembly BOM for variants

Hello, is there an option to create different BOMs for variants or SKUs of an item. I have an assembled item T-shirt (comps. are T-shirt + emblem). On this T-shirt I have variants S, M and L. Can I setup different BOMs so when I choose an L version, an assembly order takes an L variant of comp. T-shirt?

This is not an out-of-the-box function when using Assembly Management. You can achieve this when using the Manufacturing module, which requires the Premium BC license.

You could certainly customize the system to handle setting the Assembly BOM to be Variant specific, but it would take some careful planning to ensure all Assembly Order creation points honor the Variant specific BOM.

Assembly BOMs don’t support variant-specific components. Use Manufacturing BOMs or customize Assembly BOM logic.

You’re in the same position I was two years ago. No, Business Central doesn’t support BOM components for variants, but you can check AppSource for additional apps that offer configuration pricing or BOM pricing.

This is just a suggestion if you’re looking to calculate components in the decoration business.
