A customer of ours wants to know if he can run the GP client and SQL reports on a MacBook without loading a windows operating system.

they can probably use the GP Web Client if they install IE. But not the full GP Client.
Not the desktop client as this is Windows only.
You could use the web client instead, but there is extra install and configuration needed for this.
The SSRS reports run in the browser so would be accessible on any machine.
