Sales order are getting deleted automatically in D365 FO

We have seen in recent times that the open sales orders are being deleted randomly. We have controls on user roles (Security roles are in place) and a very few people can delete the orders. But they claim to have not done it at all.
Is there a possibility that this can happen? I am thinking of enabling a user database logging for sales and purchase orders to track the same in future. Does anyone have a better suggestion on the same?

PS: I know this is a very weird scenario but have seen this happening thrice in past 6 months.
I have the same question (0)

    Good day,

I believe that's not possible.  Is the Excel add-in being used?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

I do believe that happens. We also have a case where pending vendor invoices are being created from PO's, sometimes 20 or 30 within seconds. We know which user caused it but we dont know when it happens or how to reproduce it.

Nevertheless, I need to ask that. How experienced are your users? I ve seen users deleting whole documents like sales orders, although they just wanted to remove one line.

DB logging is a good idea, it can be caused by so many things, customizations api's etc....

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi,

As Adis mentioned, that could be the reason most of the time. However, you can configure the VOID Sales Order functionality and then verify the deleted Sales order from the Inquiry. You can also get the specific user name through the DB log once it has been setup.

Here is the setup for voided orders:

    Hi,

Using the database log temporarily is a good option to find the user deleting it which brings you closer to the root cause. Once identified, you can ask more specific questions, or check if it is caused by a customization, batch job with wrong settings or something different.
