Developing programs for GP 2010?

Hi, I am fairly new to GP Development and I am comfortable with Visual Studio 2010 tools as I have used it to develop plugins for Dynamics CRM 2011. I am wondering if someone could provide me pointers on how to get started. I downloaded the SDK, however, it would be a big help to know the high-level process. In the CRM 2011, it's like this - you build the plug-in in VS and register the assembly DLLs and steps using the registration tool and deploy in the CRM server. How do we deploy the programs (say plug-ins) in GP 2010?

How do we modify the Forms or add a custom field to an existing forms?

Is it possible to create a new Form to support the business need?

I heard a  about excel macros, dexterity, webservices, econnect etc., I can refer to the development guide, but would help if someone could give me a primer on this?
