Set Debit Values Positive; Credit Values Negative Q

Is it possible to set up GP globally (i.e. for all Companies I have) with Debit values being Positive and Credit vales being negative. This would allow the display of Data values in one column i.e. in all views of data I would only see one column (not 2 i.e. debit and credit)

Hope that makes sense

    Hi JDOC

    Your question does make sense, but unfortunately the answer is No from within the system.

    You could however do this in reports - SQL, Excel or whatever reporting tool by using some Case statements.  It would however mean doing Case statements for pretty much any report you want.

    Hi JDOC,

    fully agree with Heather... GP stores all the values as positive numbers in the tables and the only way to tell the difference is based on the field names.

    You'll have to define your own calculated field within the reporting tools to set the sign for the values.
