Unable to find a table and Support Debugger Tool

I am doing a system admin training and wanted to show them the functionality of the Support Debugger tool. I download the DEBU_1100 zip file and extracted the file to the GP2010 folder. After I confirm to add the new code, immediately I receive an error stating "Unable to find a table" dexterity runtime error and immediately after that, a "Unable to include new code".

It is on a virtual machine using Windows 7 Enterprise. I have full admin rights on the machine and validated that the Administrators group has full access to the folder. I am not sure what else could be causing the problem. The only times I have encountered issues like this is when permissions is involved.

Anyone else encounter this or have suggestions>

Then it must be something on top of UAC.

If you needed elevated permissions to copy the chunk file, then Dexterity will need elevated permissions to extract the chunk.

Anyhow, this is caused by the operating system and is not something that can be resolved with Dexterity code.

As far as the Support Debugging Tool is concerned it is mentioned in the User Guide documentation on page 5.

I've rebooted several times since the server was configured and UAC was turned off.  We do opt to install GP in Program Files, though, so maybe it's the location that's an issue.  Even though I'm an Admin on the server I do recall it prompting to confirm elevated permissions when copying chunk files to the GP2013 folder.   So there must be something else associated with the Program Files folder, unrelated to UAC settings, or at least unaffected by UAC being turned off.

As far as I know this is UAC related.

My GP installs are not under Program Files and I have UAC on and never have an issue.

If you turn UAC off, did you reboot to complete the process of disabling UAC?

It is only when UAC is on and install under Program Files.

So this occurs even with UAC turned off?   For installation purposes, we always turn off UAC, and I did confirm that it was off when I attempted the first couple of chunk files.

This issue is caused by UAC (User Access Control) and is not really a Dexterity issue.

The solution is to perform the chunk extraction from the installer (while permissions are elevated)...

That is if the application has one.

Otherwise if the application is installed under Program Files, you must Run as Administrator once.

RE: Unable to find a table and Support Debugger Tool

All, just so you are aware, this issue persists with Dynamics GP 2013 on a Windows Server 2012 environment with all of our 3rd parties thus far, including Mekorma and Advanced Intercompany Transactions.

The Run As Administrator is still a valid fix/workaround.

    Thanks, Lisa!

    Hi Lisa,

The process as you have outlined applies to our Mekorma MICR installation in Windows 7 as well.

    Hi Lisa

Glad you were able to get it sorted.

When did you download?  The new build 14 was posted last night, if you don't have build 14 please download it again. Here are the details.

Never mind. I found the answer in the Support Debugger Tool blog and how the Runtime tries to write to the Program Files folder will restrict this due to the UAC unless the Run as Administrator is used.  As soon as I had GP run as Administrator after copying the *.cnk file, it worked like a charm.
