Field level security on Required Field

I am trying to prevent one specific user from doing anything but using the default SOP Document Number when creating an Order. I have tried using Field Level Security, but keep getting any error message about it being a required field. Any suggestions?

As you know, I do not think you can use Field-Level security directly on a required field, however, you can use modifier to disallow edits of the SOP Number field. You could then assign that modified form only to the users whom you do not want to change that field. If your have the Great Plains Power Tools product from Winthrop Development, you can add pretty much any logic you'd like to Dynamics GP. https://www.winthropdc.com/products_GPPT.htm
