AP Voucher batch with Manual Check information partially released

The AP Voucher batch is suspended and will not release as it says that another user has released the batch.

This was a voucher batch with a manual check recorded on it.  The manual check batch released.

There are no gltran records on the voucher batch.

The APDoc and Batch record both had rlsed set to '1' - I updated to '0'

The APDoc record had PerClosed as 201706 - I removed that.

What other fields do I need to update to get the batch to release successfully?

I assume once released, I may need to update again to update the PerClosed back to 201706.

Your immediate input is appreciated!

Laura, the batch record sounds like it has a status of S.  If so you need to change that back to B.  I am concerned about why the voucher batch suspended in the first place.  Was that reason stating that another user has released the batch what you saw in the event log after the initial release or after you made you changes to APDoc and Batch and tried to release it again?  If this was the initial release message then it sounds like some might have tried to run Release AP batches while you were releasing this batch.

The initial event log said that the batch was released by another user.

This was a voucher batch with a manual check entered on it, so it created the 2 batches consecutively.  The check batch released but the voucher batch suspended. I don't see anything wrong with the Voucher records.

The Batch status was S and the only updates I did was to APDOC to set the RLSED to 0 and cleared PERClosed.  In BATCH I set RLSED to 0.

I did not change the batch status.

The APDOC record has the manual check information on it, so I was going to create a test record to see what is updated before and after the batch releases so that I can consider other fields for updates.

The last event log after the updates just gave the error 'An unexpected error has occurred while releasing batch '020857' Please contact Microsoft Support for assistance.

When we ran the AP Debug it just said unknown error.

Laura, thanks for the added information.  At this point I would change the batch status back to B and try releasing it from the release AP batches screen.  if that gives the same error (another user...) then we will need to dig deeper to see what is causing that.

Changing the batch status to B did not aid in successfully releasing the batch through the Release AP Batches screen.

The customer decided they were ok with doing a journal entry to record the accounting on the voucher.

We updated the APDOC and APTRAN records to released and set the PerClosed to 2017-06 on the APDOC record.

We updated the BATCH status to P and corrected the AP_Balances currbal field to 0.

You could see all the transactions in Vendor Maintenance so all was good to them.

Thanks for taking the time to review and respond.
