FieldOne - customizing the mobile/tablet client

(0) ShareShare

We have a healthcare scenario where our client would like a tablet device (assume perhaps a Surface) running something like FieldOne that would also need to connect/integrate to nearby medical/monitoring devices (via Wi-Fi?). The tablet and medical devices would be offline from the server or Internet.

Can FieldOne be customized/extended to support this kind of scenario?

FieldOne uses Resco Mobile w/ offline capabilities. A scenario like working offline on a Work Order, creating status updates, etc. still would work as long as you can go online to sync and get new changes. Therefore multiple scenarios would be possible, for instance get a daily schedule then work offline and return online at the end of the day. Or using breaks to go back online for sync and go offline again. We got a pretty good healthcare Story so check out with us.

Thanks. I'm not familiar with Resco Mobile, is it possible for it to be customised to work with local devices over wi-fi?

If you want to build an additional App, Resco itself has a Framework. Within FieldOne you get a prebuild Field Service Application in interaction with CRM (customizable). So it all depends on what you would like to achieve. For instance what is your goal with connecting to medical/monitoring devices? Get and read the log-files? You might need a special software or interface for that. But you're in a mobile world where App-to-App link is something possible. It really depends on more specific details on your scope. Hi CRowland,

The offline scenario is possible with Resco Mobile CRM (as well as FieldOne - which is based on Resco). As for the connection, it's mainly a question of what each device is capable of (supported protocols, data encryption, etc.) - you will need to write a custom JavaScript in order to connect the CRM app to medical devices. This document might help you out www.resco.net/.../jsbridge.aspx

Please note, the FieldOne application is restricted to be used only with FieldOne-specific entities neilparkhurst.com/.../fieldone-sky-customization-contains-an-entity-that-is-not-allowed. You might need to go directly for Resco Mobile CRM www.resco.net/mobilecrm, which allows you to use any entities.
