RE: Fixed Assets - How can I edit the Quantity for an asset?

We sometimes need to adjust an asset quantity to a value larger than the 6-digit keyable length in the Asset General Information window (we use asset pools). The window correctly displays quantities larger than 6 digits, but cannot edit. I found that I can change the quantity on an existing asset to a value larger than 6 digits using a SmartConnect integration and the 'Create Asset' GP adapter (eConnect node) with the 'Update if existing' box checked in the mapping. Does anyone know if there is any risk in doing this?

By the way if you wanna to edit the cost you can by clicking the arrow next to the acquisition cost . Financial >> Cards >> Fixed Assets >> General>>acquisition cost

    Hi Raye,

Leslie is absolutely correct on this. You would go to the General card for the Fixed asset and change the quantity of the Asset. For example, if an asset represents 50 desks, you could change the original amount and enter 50.

Financial >> Cards >> Fixed Assets >> General

I think you can Simply go into the General Information Card and change the quantity number. This will keep the total cost the same, but change the quantity.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
