Multi-Entity Management

Is anyone familiar with Binary Streams Multi-Entity Management (MEM)?? The structure of our company is setup to have a separate db per location, one due to our account structure which we can overcome by revamping our chart of accounts, and two because each location has it's own FEIN.

I'm trying to figure out a way to scale out our operations in a more streamlined approach and the hurdle I can't get past is the FEIN requirement which is why we have separate db's for each location. We're currently running 22 company db's with the expectation to double that this year and double that number the following year. So nearly 100 practices within a year. I'm not sure how to maintain something of that size in GP without a large team to support it.

I've worked with MEM multiple times and it's a great add-on.  It handles the separate FEIN numbers and is nice for consolidating your entities.  All the intercompany due to/from's are seamless and the security for the different entities is also fairly easy to maintain.  Basically just about every window has a new field on it called Entity ID where you'll specify which company you are entering that transaction for.  Inquiry and report windows allow for single or multiple entities to be selected which is really helpful for seeing vendor/customer totals across all entities.

If you've got any other specific questions, I can try and help answer them.  Binary Stream is also always willing to do a hands-on demo with prospects as well.

Tom, contact me at neil@binarystream.com and I can give you a high level demo of what you are looking for.  Also, on our website www.binarystream.com you will find a case study and a recorded call based on Willamette Dental, one of the largest pratices in the Seattle/NW area, detailing how MEM saves them in excess of $70k per year!
