Using Notes View in Dashboards

Hi - this is my first post, so I hope someone can help me!

I've created an Advanced Find for Notes, however Notes entity is not available in the list of Records to allow me to add the Notes AF I created as a list to a Dashboard. Can you add Notes to Dashboards?

We use CRM Online.

Many thanks.

Agnes

    iruser2,

You might get better responses from the community if you post your issue in anew question. I only stumbled upon it by chance because I needed to add Notes to a Dashboard.  It doesn't sound like that is what you are trying to do.

    Best of luck!

when I tried this approach the URL took me to the look for Accounts Saved View = New.  It did not remember the advanced find I created for notes.  The advanced find # is included in the URL.  It does not appear to do anything in a new browser tab however.

For an easier one-click to open "view" that looks like a dashboard, you can copy the URL of your advanced find and create a desktop shortcut for the user. Arrange your columns the way you want them. No charts though.

    Hello!

Tenfold as a CTI solution could help. It integrates with majority of CRMs and any phone systems. It allows you to log the number of calls received and handled and time spent on each call and these can be viewed under your account's dashboard analytics stats. They also support MS Dynamics integration

    Hello,

I have proceeded as described in order to have a notes view in a dashboard but I cannot extract the view in excel as in any other ocassion.

Is there something missing or due to Notes entity we cannot export the view findings?

    Thank you,

    Alexandros

you should be able to get the id of the vide by opening the Notes view in customization.Once you open the view use any url encode /decode to get the id from the url that you just opened

RE: Using Notes View in Dashboards

    Hi,

Thanks for the advice to create a Dashboard with Account view, export and change the entity and view id. Can you advise what I need to change these to, in order to get Notes? Apologies as I'm not looking to be spoon fed, however I'm new to this so if you could at least point me to where I can get a list of View IDs for Entities, that would help.

    Thanks again,

    A.

RE: Using Notes View in Dashboards

You should able to add notes into dashboard. There is no way to do it using UI.

Here are the steps to add notes to dashboard.

1.Create a dashbaord and add List component with any entity and view

2.Add just this dashboard to new solution and export it has unmanaged solution.

    3. from the zip file copy customization.xml fiel to local folder and open in any xml editor.

4.Find the entity name and viewid  in the xml and replace those 2 values into note entity name and note entity public view id then save it.

5.Replace this file in the existing solution zip .

    6.Import and publish it.

Then you will see notes records in your dashboard.

    Hi

You can not add Notes view to Dashbords.
The way to achieve this is to create a report or a web resource that uses JavaScript and then show it within an iframe or a dashboard.

    Hope this help!
