I am looking to change credit card/debit processors,  as First Data via Vital say they do not supoort pin based debit. Mercury payment used to be popular here. Any users of them: are you happy / unhappy with them?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

Mercury has good reputation and Paymentech also supports RMS integration.

Great - 2/2. I am going to go ahead and get signed up with them.

Also, just to clarify, it is not First Data via Vital that will not accept pin based debit. It is specifically Suntrust (the reselller).

Also, if you don't do too many small transactions (under $50.00), you can use PINLESS debit and wont need a PIN Pad at all, thereby saving some money.

I tried Mercury for 2 years and They are high I didn't like to pay for every decline transaction and I didn't like They do  two deposit one for debit and one visa, master. My bank service charges was high. I am usinng Epay  now and They are very good. Only one seposit every day no decline charge. My most trasactions are debit card. So you should't have any problem. Hi Marc,

I've been wondering the same thing but after several attempts at contacting Mercury the have failed to get back to me repeatedly. I don't like the idea of using middleware, which their product relies on, but always hunting for a better solution than what's out there now. A lot of folks out there have pointed me to them but I've twice been disappointed with their sales reps' follow-through and I'm not going to try a third time.

I've been using Chase Paymentech now for 3 months and am happy. They require no middle-ware at all, directly connecting into RMS and do PIN-Less debit, so I saved on PIN Pads. All deposits are done together overnight and I can access all my transactions real-time online, both at the enterprise level or for each location. The rates were good, and so far my rep has been extremely responsive, even after the initial install. I've since added two locations, and plan to add more.

My rep is Ryan Mueller: J.Mueller@ChasePaymentech.com but I am sure any contact would do the same.

    BK,

I ended having the same experience with Mercury. Two different people there failed to get back to me within a week. I ended up going with EMPS, a First Data processor that supports all RMS credit card/debit functionality directly.
