Planning Worksheet behaviour when filtering by item

Hi,

in the Planning worksheet when I run the "Calculate Regenaritive plan wksh" and I filter by a specific item number representing and Assembly with an associated BoM, I don't get any proposal for the components of that BoM, even though all the setups seems to be correct: replenishment and planning policies, low level code, etc.

Indeed, if I do the same without any filter applied to a specific item, I get all the proposals for both assemblies and components and therefore production orders and purchase orders.

Does the Planning worksheet limit the calculations to the specific selected item in the filter field disregarding the associated BoM?

Thanks.

Fabrizio

I feel like the answer is already in the question. If You add filter, it will look only at that item and ignore anything else. You might want to adjust Your filter, and include all items, that You want to look (main item and components)

Thanks for the answer: since we're doing some tests I hoped that filtering by an assembly was enough to get also the planning for the child components of that assembly. This would allow as to:

    1) avoid to run the Regenerative Plan for all the items (assemblies and components that have a Planning set up) or

    2) avoid to include all the components included in the assembly under test...imagine when you have 10-20 components per assembly.

Well You can try to explore option to add dimension value to Items (but I think only Global dimensions can be used) and then when running the plan - add filter to that value. But if one and the same component is used on many BOMs then it might not be useful.

Otherwise You can calculate regenerative plan for all items, and then delete the lines that You don't need now.

Without knowing a bit more details about business / products it's hard to tell best way.

The planning worksheet relies on accurate planning parameters to create lines for items. Without proper parameters, the system may not be able to identify demand correctly. This can result in no planning, inaccurate or incomplete planning suggestions.

it is important to verify that the item's planning parameters are correctly set up. This involves checking factors such as demand settings, timing considerations, and other relevant parameters.
