Can CRM 2015 Online use the CRM 2013 Email Router?

We are trying to plan our upgrade to CRM 2015 Online from CRM 2013 Online. We currently use the CRM 2013 Email Router and want to know if we need to upgrade the email router immediately after the CRM server is upgraded or if we could wait a short period of time. I searched but could not find any information on the Email Router compatibility. Does anyone have any information?

    The best way to use the Email Router, is updated from 2013 to 2015. If you going to take the time to update your CRM Online org, then, I recommended to update your Email Router to.

    - Install Email Router for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 and CRM Online: technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699800.aspx

    - Upgrade CRM 2013 Email Router to CRM 2015 Email Router:

    I know the best way to do it to upgrade the email router at the same time but we have some other circumstances that are affecting our ability to do this. So, back to my original question, will the CRM 2013 Email Router work with CRM 2015 Online?

    Hi Diver7,

    It may work but we wouldn't recommend you to use CRM 2013 Email Router in CRM 2015 as it may cause issues, the best deal would be to upgrade the CRM 2013 Email Router.

    Usually it works, so yes, But it would be better if you can tell us what complications you have in upgrading it

    We just upgraded from 2013 online to 2015 online. The email router stopped working. Before upgrading the email router to 2015, we are going to attempt adding the update rollups. I'll let you know if the rollups get the router functioning again or not.

    After installing the updates to the 2013 email router, messages are still not sending. We will need to install the 2015 email router.
