Over posting output on production

Is there a setting that prevents/allows overproduction on a production order via the output journal?

    There is no setting to restrict overproduction out of the box. If you have this requirement, you would need to customize the system to do it.

    Thank you. I should add more context here; I was able to over output in BC but not when using Warehouse Insights. I have a message out to Insight Works on the error.

    Just to add some information, Microsoft recently added the over receipt feature, you can also try to submit this idea to Microsoft.
    Dynamics 365 Business Central: Receive more items than ordered (Receive a quantity higher than the ordered quantity)

    As in system it will allow to produce more quantity than the planned quantity. but if required we can write validation in the output journal posting function to check the quantity
