Warehouse pick registration is not considering the FEFO Picking for the Batch Lot

Hi Experts,

Can Someone pls explain me the actual process of the Warehouse Pick Registration activity for the FEFO Product Picking Logic.

Environment: Currently in My Scenario we are Having Only One Location, and Multiple Batched and Bins for the Product and the Item Tracking is marked as for Batch and Expiry date. Bin Policies is marked for the FEFO Picking in the Location.

Problem Statement: Some times BC is not considering the FEFO and Picks the next Batch inventory however there is still some inventory available in the Old Batch.

I have the same question (0)

    Pramod,

First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) is a sorting method that ensures that the oldest items, those with the earliest expiration dates, are picked first.

This functionality only works when the following criteria are met:

    • The item must have a serial/lot number.
    • On the item’s item tracking code setup, the SN Warehouse Tracking field or the Lot Warehouse Tracking field must be selected.
    • The item must be posted to inventory with an expiration date.
    • On the location, the Require Pick, Pick According to FEFO, and Bin Mandatory toggles must be turned on.

When all the criteria are met, then serial/lot-numbered items to be picked are sorted with the oldest first in all picks and movements, except for items that use SN-specific or lot-specific tracking.

Note- If some serial or lot-numbered items use specific tracking, then those are respected first and under them, the remaining, non-specific, serial/lot numbers are listed according to FEFO.
If two serial or lot-numbered items have the same expiration date, then the application selects the item with the lowest serial or lot number. When picking serial or lot-numbered items in locations set up for directed put-away and pick, only quantities on bins of type Pick are picked according to FEFO.

To enable movements according to FEFO, leave the From Bin field empty on the Inventory Movement page or the Movement Worksheet pages. If the Strict Expiration Posting field is selected on the Item Tracking Code Card, only items that are not expired will be included in the pick, and the lines are sorted according to the FEFO principle.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Check that Item Tracking Code page has 'Lot (SN) Specific Tracking' and 'Lot (SN) Warehouse Tracking' checkers.
We need to set both checkers for use 'Picking According to FEFO' feature. We cannot set 'Lot (SN) Warehouse Tracking' without active 'Lot (SN) Specific Tracking'.

Thanks Mr. Steve for your such a descriptive reply. Actually i have checked these all parameters and found ok. The system is also considering the same as per definition. Only Some times it misbehaves and if i trace the issue then i get only one correlation that there are multiple Lots are available in multiple bins and the system does not consumes the Lot according to the request. For example i have a requirement of 10 pcs in to the Sales Order and i have 3 Lots available with L1-4 , L2-3 and L3-10 pcs respectively and also in the same sequence of expiry. then it takes 4 complete from L1, 3 complete from L2 and 1 from L3. hence total picking is less than 10 which is 8. I am surprise and the same is happening in multiple items now sometime the picking is less for 1 qty or sometime it more than 100. May be it has some problem when multiple Lots are available.

    Thanks

    Pramod

    Pramod,

Please do me a favor and see if your Item Tracking Code used has Lot (SN) Specific Tracking and Lot (SN) Warehouse Tracking set to TRUE. I just want to be sure. My test, in my Cronus database, is not generating this but please check yours and write back.

    Thanks,

    Steve

We use only the Lot and Expiry Tracking.

    Pramod,

I tested this in my Cronus Sandbox, US version, and cannot recreate. FEFO picking has built-in rules that if two or more Lot numbered Items have the same expiration date, then the program selects the item with the lowest Lot Number. This issue is within your PROD database, correct? If yes, have yo taken your example and tested in a Cronus Sandbox? Since I am not sure if you have installed any APP's, that might effect the picking process, it is best to start with a Cronus test to see if its BC or your version in PROD. If Cronus works, I would either connect with your Partner to debug the Pick created.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Thanks Steve,

    The issue seems resolved now.

Do we have any option to get all the data of Deleted Warehouse Shipments with the related Sales Order and Item Details? We have deleted some Sales Orders and Warehouse Shipments and now need to check the data.

    Regards

    Pramod,

Sorry for the delay I have been offline for a month and back now... I do not know a solution for pulling deleted documents information.

    Thanks,

    Steve
