Within GP 10, I receive a Microsoft Error message when I choose a budget, then import from Excel. This only happens on my pc, it works fine when I'm on other pcs.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Check to make sure that Excel is not translating your column headings to dates. If it is, jus put something in the cell so that Excel doesn't see it as a date.
Exactly what is the message?
Hi Bill,
We had a similar issue at our office and with the limited issue of support with Microsoft as well.
But I found out that the biggest problem when uploading it was that it was a computer using wireless access to the router, so there was a delay in the transfer of the information.
Please advice if that computer your using is connecting to the server through wi-fi, if not then you should check if the parallel cable (UTP with RJ45 connectors) if faulty or maybe it's something wrong when you need to connect to the server.
Have you tried the same steps in another computer?
Both machines have Office 2007 running. The PC that does not work, get the standard Microsoft error, saying, do you want to send this error report to Microsoft.
Very frustrating.
I upload budgets often and I always get the message once I select the excel spreadsheet to upload "Are you sure you want to Exit the Budget Wizard for Excel" I just click no.
Often my GP crashes after I upload.
There are definitely some funky things going on with the Budget Wizard. It always leaves a session or Excel.exe running in the background after I import a budget so that next time I open a spreadsheet, it open the budget one along with the one I am opening.
Our company has unlimited support with Microsoft, and we have put in several cases in and really what we have learned is that the budget wizard is buggy and we just deal with it. They keep saying they will fix it in service packs, releases, hotfixes, etc...
Are the versions of excel the same on both of the machines you use? I have done this on many different configurations with office 2003, office 2007, 2007 running in compatibility mode, different service packs of GP, I'm sure different service packs of office, and all seem to have weird bugs.
Anyway, one fix could be to reinstall the client. Also, if you have standard installs (exactly the same) you might try copying the GP folder from the good client to the bad one. See if that works.
If you find a fix, post it because I am curious.
