Hi,

We have set the allow posting from date in the GL setup.

Is there a way in security to all specific users to post with the date? We need to have the ability to close the posting for the subledgers but still allow posting in the GL for specific users is this possible.

    Hi Bill

As Chris mentioned, and this is part of the link shared where you have different scenario with allow posting from / to at General ledger setup level, as well as scenario where this setup is combined with setup as user level using posting from / to setup...

Any of these scenario that could help you to see what we mean here?

Hope this is helpful dear Bill

Hi Bill, if you go to the User Setup page (either via search bar or under General Ledger Setup) you can setup specific allowable posting dates for individual users (e.g. your finance team) which is separate from the general ledger setup posting dates permitted.

    RE: Closing Periods

I had the chance to read it but I could not find an answer for my question unfortunately.

We are trying to stop the posting of any subledger transactions after the close of a month however there is still a need to post general ledger transactions for that period and the only way we can see this is to in the General Ledger Setup set allow posting from and set that date with the beginning period of the following month however this makes the users unable to post a journal entry to the period prior to that date and to close the financials the users are forced to go in and manually adjust that date.  Is it possible to set security so that a user can bypass this date and post with the correct permissions or is there a way to block posting of subledger transactions for a particular date however allow journal entry transactions?
