We currently have SQL 2008 R2 loaded on a small business server. The Dynamics SL application is on a VM server, which is Windows 2008. The goal is to move the database to Windows 2012.
I have installed Sql 2008 R2 SP3 on Windows 2012. I restored a test SL application and system database to the new installation. I made the appropriate changes to the Company and Domain tables. I ran updates on views and procedures in DB Maint.
But when I try to load the test database, the application can't see it. At first it couldn't see the server, but I found a line in the user's Solomon.ini where the available servers are listed. I can now select the correct server, but it can't see any databases on that server.
What am I missing?

Hi Bev,
We have faced the same problem during our SL 2011 FP1 upgrade. But we found out the workaround for that.
Workaround:
Delete the solomon.ini file in the following path "C:\Users\UserID\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Dynamics SL"
Let me know the above workaround will resolve your issue.
Thanks

Bev, if you are using SL 2011, be sure to run the "Synchronize All Ownership & Security" scenario as well.
Bev,
Did you complete all of the steps in this article?
