Business Central Cloud Server specs? What do i actually get?

I'm interested to know what I actually get in terms of our server allocation for our actual environment.

There must be some sort of set of resource limits we have (i.e. 80GB storage space) however is it possible to know what we actually get?

The thing is we have a website/warehouse and several users all connected it and I feel we are hitting the limits of what it is capable of. For instance for our website we can pay more money for more ram, processor cores and so on, but with Business Central it seems you get what you are given.

I know you could cut down queries and run less often etc, but sometimes it's easier to spend a bit more money so we can do what we want as opposed to playing within the limits.

The only thing I have really found on the subject is database storage?

https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/dynamics365/it/2020/04/28/extend-data-storage-for-dynamics-365-business-central/

I guess you could set up your own server, but would be nice to keep things simple and just add a bit more performance to what we have been given?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

That is the concept of hosting that you should no longer worry about this as it is managed by others. Comparing OnPrem with Cloud is probably comparing like apples with peers. What we do have setup in cloud environment for our customers today is outdated tomorrow as we keep making changes constantly based on continuous customer / partner feedback and the commitment we made to our very valued partners / customers.

Also note that the database does run on Azure SQL for which there are several options to choose from when putting the database on Azure SQL as well  in an OnPrem environment which is also not documented in system requirements.

But we do understand what you are asking for as it is a nice to have to get that information at least for todays comparison. This is however not being shared with partner / customer community.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco,

So having a read through that the answer is no. Which is a shame as its would be nice to compare what you get vs an on premise/self hosted install of Business Central.
