How to 'reset' or re-deploy SDK Message Processing Steps for Activity Feeds to default

For some reason the upgrade from 2011 to 2016 caused some fault in our system which has resulted in the default OOB SDK Message Processing Steps to be incomplete.  A default deployment has 54.  Ours has only 26.

We opened (wasted) a support ticket with MS to get assistance with fixing this and after 2 days of run-around and re-assignment to 2 different engineers, one of whom had me delete data and THEN tell me she wanted to me to restore from backup, they tell us that we have to open a root cause analysis case to get help.  Really poor service.  No effort was made to get the system back to it's default state, or to refund our support ticket (which they repeatedly mis-scoped).

I have tried to re-import the solution 5 times:

c:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Setup\Serviceability\Slipstream\Actions_Org\Install\Solutions\ActivityFeeds_Managed.zip

Each time it completes successful.  But the quantity of steps remains unchanged.

Does anyone out there know how to get this functionality back to it's OOB state, since Microsoft's 'support' is of no help with this issue?

Thank you.

    Hi Daniel,

I am not sure it will work or not, but give it a try:

In your CRM 2011, go to settings>>customization>>solutions>>create a new solution>>add all sdk messages which are missing your 2016>>export it as managed solution

Now import it to your CRM 2016

Check your CRM 2016, if its working as you were expecting, it fine; otherwise uninstall this solution

    Give it a try!

Hi Prashant.  Thank you.  Since the OOB 2016 solution would not re-import, I suspect the 2011 would also not import and I do not want to test this since it's our production environment.  At this point I'll be dependent on MS to provide a solution unless someone in the community has one.  I'll update if MS ever provides a solution.

MS Support is a better option... :)

Found solution for this.  Get a free online trial to Dynamics 365.  Export SDK Message Processing Steps as unmanaged solution.  Import.  Voila.

This resets your config with what you'd have OOB, and since it's unmanaged, it becomes part of your DB.
