Taxability of product codes.

Is there a way i can assign taxability of products in different states.

For Eg: 

State 01 State 02
Product 01 Taxable Non-Taxable
Product 02 Non-Taxable Taxable
Customer 01 Customer 02

If i select the option to be based on customer then both of the products will be taxable or non taxable depending on the customer is having being taxed or exempt.

Can anyone please suggest me how can i set the taxability of the products based on the States?

The way i came up with is to establish different product codes for each state, is there any other easier way around?

    Hi,

    1. If you want to have taxation based on Product-wise then it is required to setup at Item Master level using "Sales Tax Option" for every product.

    2.If you setup TaxSchedule ID for State-wise(State can be created as Customer Class) then any transaction for customer under this class will be as a whole either Taxed or non-taxed and there cannot be differentiate Tax component for Product wise

    3. Customer Master and Customer Class will have similar functionality on Tax Option

    4. If you want to setup State-wise Tax Calculation, regardless the products, then it can be achieved directly using Class ID Tax setup
