Hi, sorry if this one has been asked before.

I have managed solution within my production server (CRM 2016 Update 2). This managed solution is imported from the development server. Unfortunately the development server is crash and no longer exist. Now we are going to upgrade to CRM v9. We already installed CRM V9 and we want to move our customization from production server to this new server.

Is there a way to export the items (entity, field, workflow and etc) from our production server ?

Thanks

    Hi,

you will not be able to export the managed solution. However you can create a new solution in your production instance- add all the components and export that ?

you can do that - you can even export the default customization as in default solution ( i wont really recommend that). so export what you need.

In case of creating dev server with unmanaged solutions, create a new solution in production instance and select the components you want to import in the new server.

Before importing this solution in new server, remove missing dependencies from solution.xml file and change the property from managed to unmanaged (i.e. custom fields, entities, views etc) by changing the tag <Managed>1</Managed> to <Managed>0</Managed>.

    Hi

If its  your Production environment and if you planning to only move customisation, what about the live data? Your production system must already have loads of data no?

I would recommend you backup the current  production DB and restore and import it onto your new V9 installation.
