Hi,

We are currently in the process of implementing business Central for our business and creating documentation for our end users. I cannot seem to find a Task Recorder in Business Central. I have not been able to find anything yet and the software company we are using have advised that there is no such thing which seems a bit strange as having used Microsoft AX Dynamics in the past, i remember using a "Task Recorder"

Is there a Task Recorder available in Business Central?

Could you please explain what the Task Recorder and how it works?

Is it for creating permission sets?

Task Recorder application is used to track and record performed actions including screenshots. Once you start recording, it will track all mouse and keyboard inputs, will record the field names and take screen shots, which can be saved and printed in word document. This can be used to document business process and work instructions.

Hi, As far as I know, there are two recorders in BC. But this may not be what you need.

1. Record Permissions: https://yzhums.com/10068/

2. Record all deletions (From BC19.0): https://yzhums.com/19180/

Hi Mubi,

Please correct me if I am wrong, "Task Recorder" in AX is a feature that enables us to create a kind of user manual that tracks every single step we did in the system, then convert it as an e-document (pdf).

If you expect the same feature in Business Central, unfortunately, it's not come as a default feature.

But, you may look for an add-on called "ClickLearn" (Required Paid License).

Thanks. It's a shame that Microsoft has left this out from Business Central. Was a very useful tool.
