    Hello Sachin,

That's correct, as of now there is no public information about a future version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises).
I'll try to keep you posted when there is.

As a side note, I just want to clarify that the legacy web client is only deprecated for online customers.

    Hi Henry,

    Any updates on the roadmap?

When is the web client being deprecated for on-premise users?

Also, there are features not available in the Unified Interface for on-premise (for ex. Advanced Find). Any documentation on how to resolve these and what features are and aren't available?

    Thanks,

    eSBe

    Hello,

The v9.1 version of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement on-premises is around the corner and is planned for Q2 of 2021.
With a few limitations that will be documented, it should contain an updated version of Unified Interface that will be close to the capabilities that were released in the October 2020 online version (2020 Release Wave 2).

It's important to note that the legacy web client is still supported for on-premise versions.
Support lifecycle for these products is documented here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/search

    Hi Henry,

Thanks a lot for the information. I've got a few follow-up questions from what you have stated above. This will provide some great insight on how to proceed with clients.

    1. Any idea when will the v9.1 documentation be released? It would be extremely helpful to know the limitations of the update Unified Interface.

    2. Every month there seems to be an update patch on the current version. Before doing an upgrade to 9.1 in Q2 this year, is it required to go through all the update patches within the current version?

    3. From the link you provided, D365 Customer Engagement Apps, version 9.0.2 (on-premises update) support will be provided to on-premise clients till 01/13/2026. This means that an upgrade to Unified Interface can "technically" be postponed till then. Correct?

    Your response is highly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Not sure when the documentation will be released, probably closer to the G.A. date (i.e. during Q2), while the private preview allows to finetune 9.1.
For the limitations, I only know a couple: PCF controls won't be supported, components that rely on the cloud either (flows, canvas apps, mobile offline...), and also the Field Service solution will remain on the web client while Sales and Customer Service apps will get refreshed for the unified interface.

In terms of upgrade, v9.1 will be a service pack release. So I believe you can apply the Service Pack to a v9.0.x environment. If you upgrade from 8.2 you'll need to go through v9.0 first and then install 9.1

You're right when you say the support "extended end date" doesn't move (01/13/2026).
That being said, web client is still supported, until the end of the product support lifecycle.
Unified Interface is only mandatory online, for now.

The blog article on the next on-premise release is now available: Next on-premise update brings the latest version of Unified Interface | Microsoft Power Apps
