    Hello,

The message “Please wait while the connection is restored, it shouldn't take long” in Business Central typically appears when the client temporarily loses connection to the Business Central service (due to network latency, unstable internet, or service hiccups).

It’s a built-in mechanism that tries to automatically reconnect without interrupting the user session.

If it persists, common causes include poor network stability, VPN issues, or browser timeouts.

    Hi,

Does refreshing the URL not opening the Business Central again, or is it stuck on this message even after relaoding the URL?

    FYI - https://www.fenwick.com.au/blog/2024/06/21/we-paused-while-you-were-away/

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

That message simply appears when the web client briefly loses connection. It’s usually due to a momentary network drop, browser timeout, or the BC service tier restarting. A quick refresh normally fixes it.
If it keeps happening, check network stability or ask your admin to verify that the service tier or SQL isn’t restarting.

    Regards,

    Hi,
This is a standard Business Central cloud error message that appears when the client loses connection to the server. It usually happens due to:
    • Network instability (local internet issues or VPN interruptions).
    • Session timeout or temporary service hiccups in Business Central SaaS.
    • Browser-related issues (cache or extensions interfering).

    You can try

    1. Check Internet Stability
Ensure your network is stable and not dropping packets.
    2. Refresh the Page
If the message persists for more than a minute, refresh the browser tab.
    3. Clear Cache or Try Incognito Mode
      Sometimes cached scripts cause delays.
    4. Check Service Health
Go to https://admin.microsoft.com to check service health.
    5. VPN or Firewall
If you’re on VPN, disconnect and retry. Firewalls can block WebSocket connections.
