Allow Posting From / To in BC19

We have a number of companies running BC17 and one running BC19.

In the BC19 instance, once 'allow posting from' and 'allow posting to' have dates entered in to them in user setup, they can't subsequently be removed.  We would like to delete the dates from some of our users so they are managed via the dates set in general posting setup, but trying to do so results in a validation error (date must be between X..Y) where X and Y appear to be the dates set in Accounting Periods.

Is there a way around this, or has this been fixed in later issues of BC? We are looking to upgrade to 22.4 this year.

Many thanks,
Dan

This sounds like a customization.  Generally in the base system, there is nothing that would stop you from adding/removing dates in the user setup table.  I would discuss with your partner related to the potential customization.

There shouldn't be any restriction on the user setup. It seems like your system was customised to behave like that.
You can contact your partner. Or you can try to import the user setup using Configuration Package.

As mentioned by other experts, this should be an error caused by customization, and the standard will not prompt an error when the date is changed.
And the priority of “Allow Posting From” and “Allow Posting To” setup is General Journal Templates > User Setup > General Ledger Setup.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

Surprise to see standard code on user setup, CheckAllowedPostigDates, might be there never noticed,

But then if you are removing the dates, i.e., blank then should exit and not give you error.

Thank you for all the kind help.  I have found the cause of the issue, our BC19 instance is running the French locality and France have rules about only being allowed to post within 2 fiscal years.  This is standard functionality in the French locality, as frustrating as it is to manage posting dates for all users at month end, it cannot be changed.
