Lead Associated View in an Account form

I have added an Account lookup field on the Lead form so that users can associate a Lead with an existing account. However, when I click on the Navigation link for Leads in the Account form, nothing is displayed. I have even tried the method suggested in this link but to no avail: mscrmshop.blogspot.com/.../step-by-step-tutorial-to-add-missing.html

    A lookup field itself won't show related records as would be displayed from a link on the left navigation - think of that more of a 1 to 1 relationship.

    What you would need to do is create a new N:1 relationship from Lead to Account.

    Then by default on your Account the navigation item for Leads should appear and show related records.

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for the response.

    Yes, I did add the Navigation item by clicking on the Navigation tab and creating a new N:1 relationship. The odd thing is it will show the Lead if I click an 'Add new Lead' from the top ribbon in the account form. However, it does not show any previosuly created Leads. Same goes for Opportunities as well.

    Just to ask - did you add the correct Account field to the lead form? I think out of the box there is a similar relationship set up - I believe the corresponding field on the Lead was titled something like "Parent Account for Lead" If you added this field as opposed to the one you defined in the relationship the results wouldn't match up. If you add a Lead from the Account and open the Lead, do you see a field populated with the Account?

    Yes, I used the field that I created and it does pass on the Account information when click to Add a new Lead.

    And actually, I take that back about Opportunities. That does seem to be working (not sure if that was OOB or not)

    The other interesting thing is in the Associated Opportunities view there is an additional bar that includes the "Filter on: Open" and "Include: Realted "Regarding" records" parameters so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

    OK, I actually got it to work by deleting the N:1 relationship I had created originally and the associated field and then just following the steps in that blog, using the original relationship that was set up on the account field in the Lead form. Something must've been conflicting.

    Hmmm, one more snafu. When I log in as my salesperson (w/ Sales Security Role) I cant' see the Navigation link for Leads that I added. What could be controlling this behavior? The Role clearly already has rights to the Leads entity so that can't be it.

    Ah, 'ISV Extensions'. The Security Role needs this right on the Customization tab.

    This appears to have broken in 2013.

    Hi, try to add &rof as parameter

    You can set add parameter :

    &rof=true

    or

    &rof=false

    ROF is referring to Read-Optimized-Form, and it is required to be passed.

    In this section:

     //building a url
    var sUrl = "/userdefined/areas.aspx?oId=" + oId + "&oType=" + oType + "&pagemode=iframe&security=852023&tabSet=" + relName&rof=false;

    So, the URL should be having this address URL

    http://servername:port/organizationname/userdefined/areas.aspx?oId=DB4A2D57-FBBA-E311-9403-  001CC4EECDD6&oType=1&pagemode=iframe&security=852023&tabSet=lead_customer_accounts&rof=false

    Here is the result

    Hope it helps!

    I almost forget,

     you should add another param:

    &inlineEdit=1

    This will give you the ribbon/command as seen below.

    Hope it helps!
