How to Choose Lock Cylinder

In our daily life, our indoor doors are usually not locked, so the key is often not kept in place. Sometimes I found the key missing when I needed to use it. If the whole replacement is too wasteful, we only need to replace the lock cylinder at this time. How to choose the right lock cylinder?

There are some tips when I searching for it
- The more teeth, the deeper the teeth, the more complex the arrangement, the greater the difficulty of opening, and the better the anti-theft performance.
- The heavier the weight, the better the quality of the lock cylinder, the more beads in the lock cylinder, the better the anti-theft function.
- Choose the lock core to see the color, compare the color to see the workmanship. The good quality lock cylinder is electroplated, with smooth surface and bright color. Among them, the copper core with dark yellow color is relatively strong, and the anti-theft performance is good. The color of lock cylinder is dim, the color is gray and white, and the zinc alloy with bubbles has the general anti-theft performance.
- The anti-theft performance of the key inserted into the lock cylinder is poor. After the key is half inserted, rotate clockwise or anticlockwise with 5-7 component force and continue to press the key into the lock opening. The stuck key indicates that the anti-theft performance of the lock cylinder is poor, and if the key is inserted into the lock cylinder smoothly in the semi rotating state, the anti-theft effect is good.

With so many lock cylinder manufacturer, how to judge the quality of the lock cylinder and door lock?

    The first and most important characteristic when replacing a lock cylinder is the length. The cylinder consists of a keyhole on each side and a bit in the middle activated by the key.

    The length is measured from the centre of the bit up to the keyhole. The great majority of cylinders are 60mm in total length, and are known as 30-30 because it's 30mm between the bit and the keyhole on either side. However, variations are possible, including:

    30-40;

    40-40;

    40-50 etc.

    Hope this information was helpful to you
