CRM 2015 - Assign case to multiple users (Not a team)

Hi,

My client has a requirement where cases should be allowed to be assigned to Any and All users at any time.

Teams may be used, but the option to assign a case to a specific subset of users at any time should be allowed.

Does anyone have any tips on how to accomplish this?

Lets say the Case manager is assigning cases out and they know John and Bill and Bob are the best people for this case, but they do not belong to a team of solely John,Bill,Bob. Is the manager suppose to contact his System Admin so a new team be created? Should a new team be created on the fly for this one instance?

Client would like John, Bill, and Bob to see the case and one of them have to take the case. I figured either assign the case to all 3 SOMEHOW.... or use Queues. In this situation a new Queue would have to be created on the fly as well, which doesn't seem practical, however it could be done with a plugin. Perhaps setup an N to N relationship of User to Case, add the Users to the relationship and on UPDATE create the new Queue with these memebers.

Another caveat to this client is the CRM Mobile App must be used as most of the case users will be remote and on the road. They are Doctors. The mobile app is great and assigning cases to yourself or others seems very easy.

Any suggestions for the above? If I wanted to create new teams on the fly, is there a way I can allow this to be done without being a system admin and maybe create a short cut link to this screen?

Thank You

Ian Green

Did you consider using Connections?  I know a lot of people don't like Connections but you could have the manager connect the case to the relevant users. Users will need to use a view that shows cases they are connected to.

    Hi Feridun,

Thank you for the suggestion. I think its a good idea. It works how we want it to with regards to a subset of users. However, one issue that I ran into, is if I try to Connect a Team, I can not see that relationship in a view. I was hoping the Connect From field in a view could be set to "Team I am a part of", but doesn't look like that is an option. Right now if I want to assign the case to a team, I would have to use Assign, and if I want to Assign (Connect) to a subset of users I would have to use Connections. Ideally I would want the users to go to one place when Assigning cases out like this. Any ideas on how to get a view working so that they user can see if a team they belong to is "Connected" to the case?

    Thanks

    Ian

I'm not sure if Connections are available to use/create in the mobile app? If they are, this would be a great idea.

How about Access Teams? Great UI, and easy to build views such as:

Cases that are linked to an Access team that has a member which is me.

Again, I'm not sure how well this works on tablet apps.

Don't forget that you can use the browser on a tablet, you don't have to use the app.

Try this in Advanced Find to show cases where the Connected To record is a team and the current user is a member of the team.

Thanks! That works! Exactly what I was looking for!

Next is to try to figure out a way to get Connections to work on the IPhone App :)

Actually, this works well, but I can not include this in a custom view that also shows Connections they are apart of as a user or cases assigned to them.

I am looking for a custom view, that shows Cases Assigned to Teams I belong to OR Cases I am Connected to individually OR Cases my team is connected to.

Looks like I can only do one of those at a time, which is not ideal because that means they live on 3 different views. :/
