Hello,
We have users for whom setting their default pane and default tab preferences are not being saved.
Other changes are saved just fine. What should I check?

I tested this on my custom model-driven app, and default pane and default tab are remembered.
Can you make sure your users have appropriate privileges on the "User Entity UI Settings" in their security role?In case that doesn't solve it, I would also check the "User Settings" entity.

Thanks for the response.
User Entity UI Settings are all set to user. User Settings are Business Unit except for Read which is organization.
I looked at several security roles and those are the default settings.
Do they have write privilege, so that they can save their settings?
